That Thursday morning, by chance, we saw a re-posting from Alexey Kondart on Facebook asking for material for a '400 Way Split'. Ambitious, we thought. Duly intrigued, we visited his profile to find out more. Then we found another post asking for tracks "duration not less than 1 hour". Now that seemed an interesting challenge; in all my years in music (and elsewhere), I'd never gone far past 35 minutes, and we never released anything over 45 in 25 years of running the M&E label. We Googled 'Broken Tape Records' and found the Bandcamp page, spent about an hour or so listening to bits here and there and loved what we found. The cry went out: "Let's do it!" So, we spent the best part of the rest of the day putting together this, our first hour long audio work, and even gave it a pretentious title in Russian as a respectful nod to Alexey and his work with Broken Tape Records. We salute you, sir, keep the faith!
